Lady Matadors double down in Vegas, sweep weekend series versus CSN

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Arizona Western volleyball team extended their win streak to three with straight set wins on Friday and Saturday versus the College of Southern Nevada. On Friday night the Lady Matadors made quick work of the Coyotes (25-23, 25-15, 25-15). Arizona Western finished with three players reaching double digits in kills, led by Sevval Aslan's 14 kills and Esther Asiedu along with Larrynn Alexis Joseph Rodrigues' 10 kills. Asiedu also notched an astounding .909 kill percentage. Joseph Rodrigues led the Lady Matadors with 17 digs and freshman Nanami Nobuhara added 15 of her own.

On Saturday it was more of the same for Arizona Western, another straight set victory (25-11, 25-18, 25-22) paced with Aslan's 17 kills and .517 kill percentage on 29 total attempts. Joseph Rodrigues was also on tilt in Las Vegas with 13 kills and a .370 kill percentage on 27 total attempts. Joseph Rodrigues also added nine more digs to her weekend total. Nobuhara added a team high 17 digs in the matinee.

With the weekend sweep, the Lady Matadors have now won three matches in a row and improve to 13-7 on the season and 6-5 in ACCAC play. Arizona Western next will travel to Central Arizona for the regular season finale next Wednesday, October 29th. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. at CAC Gym in Coolidge, Arizona.
