Lady Matadors lassoed by Vaqueras in season finale

COOLIDGE, Ariz. - The Arizona Western women's volleyball team lost in straight sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-21) to Central Arizona on Wednesday night in the regular season finale. The loss snapped a three-match win streak for Arizona Western. It also completed a regular season sweep for Central Arizona. The Lady Matadors end the regular season 13-8 & 6-6 in ACCAC play. Arizona Western was paced by Esther Asiedu who led the Lady Matadors with 10 kills and a kill percentage of .444 on 18 attempts. Libero Nanami Nobuhara led Arizona Western with 18 digs, Nehir Erimez added 13 digs and Larryn Joesph-Rodrigues pitched in with 12. The Lady Matadors will look to regroup and head back to Central Arizona on Monday for the Region 1 Semi-Finals against Central Arizona. Arizona Western is the #3 seed and Central the #2 seed. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
