PRESCOTT, Ariz - The Arizona Western Volleyball team won their sixth straight match in a row with a four-set win on the road Wednesday night at Yavapai. The Lady Matadors dropped the first set on the road but rallied to win the next three sets (22-25, 25-22, 25-13 & 25-19) for a big ACCAC road victory. The win improves the #20 ranked team in the country to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

"After dropping the first set, we set out to make the second set our best of the match," Arizona Western Head Coach Lorayne Chandler said. "That's what we did, the team played well."

The Lady Matadors were led by Sevval Aslan with 15 kills and Blanca Terminel who added 13. Nanami Nobuhara led Arizona Western with 18 digs while Andrea Krgovic pitched in with 10.

"Sophomores did an exceptional job following the game plan and working together," Chandler said. "Our freshman really stepped up as well and made our team look and feel like a unit."

On Friday the Lady Matadors return home for another ACCAC showdown, this time versus rival #18 Eastern Arizona. The game is being promoted as a "Red Out" and encourages all students and fans to show up and wear red. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in "The House"
