DOUGLAS, Ariz--- Despite going into double overtime, the Arizona Western College Matadors (8-4-2 overall, 3-3-2 ACCAC) game against Cochise College (7-5-2 overall, 3-3-2 ACCAC) ended in a 1-1 draw.

The game was scoreless going into the second half until Cochise made their first goal in the 54th minute to take the lead.

Then with only about five minutes left on the clock, Jaeda Centeno scored the equalizer with an assist from Karen Rivas to bring the score 1-1.

After two 10-minute overtime halves, the score remained unchanged as neither team could capitalize. AWC outshot Cochise 12-10, but was not able to find success.

All three Division I teams (AWC, Cochise, and Yavapai) are still in the race to make it to play-offs, as each team has two games left in the regular season.

The Matadors will be facing off next against the Paradise Valley Pumas at home this Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. on Matador Soccer Field. Then they’ll be hitting the road to take on Pima Community College at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, at Kino Sports Complex in Tucson.
