Lady Matadors extend win streak to 12 with late surge against Mohave College

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. - Mohave College did not lay out the welcome mat for the #2 ranked Arizona Western women's soccer team on Tuesday Night. The Big Horns scored the first goal of the game at the 19-minute mark to take a 1-0 first half lead. Arizona Western tied the score in the 30th minute on an unassisted goal by Kanon Ozaki. The game remained tied into the half before Arizona Western broke the tie in the 49th minute on a goal by Reina Kasano. Arizona Western's defense held firm the rest of the way as the Lady Matadors escaped with a 2-1 road win, extending their win streak to 12 games. Arizona Western outshot Mohave College 14-3 and improve their ACCAC record to 9-0. The Lady Matadors will end the regular season at home this Friday versus Mohave College. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. at Matador Field and it is also "Sophomore Night."
