PRESCOTT, Ariz. – The Arizona Western College Matadors women's basketball team (11-7) delivered a commanding performance in conference play, overpowering Yavapai College 94-33 on Wednesday night at Yavapai College. The Matadors took control early and never relented, showcasing elite defense and an explosive offense to secure one of their most dominant victories of the season.

Mable Doumbia led the way with 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting, adding five rebounds, two assists and four steals in just 19 minutes. Doumbia's high-energy effort set the tone at both ends of the floor as Arizona Western delivered a true team showcase.

The Matadors wasted no time imposing their will, racing out to a 25-10 lead by the end of the first quarter with crisp ball movement and stifling defense. Arizona Western ratcheted up the pressure in the second, limiting Yavapai to just six points while pouring in 25 more to grab a 50-16 advantage at halftime. The defense forced turnovers and disrupted the Roughriders on nearly every possession, setting up transition opportunities and open looks on the other end.

Arizona Western did not let up after the break, outscoring Yavapai 27-14 in the third quarter and then holding the Roughriders to just three points in the final period. The Matadors forced 30 turnovers and tallied 16 steals for the game, allowing only a single assist by Yavapai. The offense remained efficient to the final horn, shooting 60.6 percent from the field and connecting on 10 of 17 attempts from beyond the arc.

Marta Vieira delivered 11 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting, including three makes from deep. Garance Soulas and Kimora Jenkins each posted 10 points, with Soulas also recording four steals, and Jenkins hitting both of her three-point attempts. Jessica Liena added 10 points and three steals off the bench, helping five Matadors reach double figures.

Arizona Western's depth and unselfish play were on display, as Chen Pan handed out a team-high four assists, while Queren Loubaki contributed a blocked shot on the defensive end. Despite being narrowly outrebounded 31-27, the Matadors' relentless pressure and efficient execution led to a runaway win.
