YUMA, Ariz. – NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American and Arizona Western Lady Matadors' leading scorer Kristol Ayson has signed to continue her career at Jacksonville State University next season.

Ayson played in 60 career games int wo seasons at Arizona Western, starting all 30 games as a sophomore in 2022-23. The guard from Tacoma, Wash., averaged 10.8 points per game, scoring 650 points with 446 coming as a sophomore.

As a sophomore in 2022-23, Ayson posted career-highs in rebounds per game with 5.5 and assists per game with 2.7 while scoring a career-best 24 points in a win over South Mountain on December 10. Ayson scored in double-figures in all but one game, doing so for the first 28 games of the season.

Ayson played a pivotal role off the bench in her freshman season, helping the Lady Matadors to the program's second-ever national tournament appearance and third 30-win season.

Following her sophomore season, Ayson was named NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American, becoming the third Lady Matador to be named an All-American in the last two seasons and was tabbed a First Team All-ACCAC and All-Region I DI.

Jacksonville State University is an NCAA DI institution located in Jacksonville, Ala., competing in Conference USA. The Gamecocks won 16 games last season, qualifying of the Atlantic Sun Tournament in their final season in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
