ACCAC Softball Players of the Week - Week 3
Division I – Pitcher of the Week
Jessica Smith – Arizona Western College
Smith totaled three appearances, going 3-0 over 14 innings while allowing just one earned run. The sophomore right-hander struck out 18 and surrendered only five hits, posting a 0.57 WHIP and 0.50 ERA in victories over North Idaho College. Smith walked just three hitters helping the Lady Matadors pick up three victories. This marks Smith's second consecutive ACCAC DI Softball Pitcher of the Week honor this season.
Division I – Player of the Week
Lea Frechette – Arizona Western College
Frechette fueled the Matadors' offense, hitting .529 (9-for-17) with a home run, seven RBI, and eight runs scored. She recorded nine hits and three walks in her first 12 plate appearances, highlighted by a game-ending home run and a game-winning double, and added three diving catches in the outfield to impact both sides of the ball.
Division II – Pitcher of the Week
Kailyn Montoya – Scottsdale Community College
Montoya delivered a standout week in the circle, highlighted by a five-inning shutout against Paradise Valley in which she struck out eight without allowing a hit. Across two appearances, the sophomore left-hander totaled 10 strikeouts over eight innings of work.
Division II – Player of the Week
Clarissa Figueroa – Pima Community College
Figueroa paced the Aztecs' offense, hitting .538 (7-for-13) with six RBI and eight runs scored helping Pima pick up four conference wins. The sophomore infielder recorded multiple hits in three games and reached base 10 times, helping power Pima to wins over Mesa and Glendale.
