Matadors overpower Southern Nevada with dominant 95-76 win at The House

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western College men's basketball (13-5, 3-0 ACCAC) delivered a statement performance at "The House", cruising past College of Southern Nevada 95-76 on Saturday to remain unbeaten in conference play. It was the Matadors third win in a row to start the 2026 portion of their regular season schedule. 

The Matadors asserted control from the opening minutes, building a double-digit lead early behind fast-paced offense and relentless rebounding. Marsai Mason knocked down a jumper to establish an early five-point edge, Boubacar Diatta quickly pushed the advantage further, setting the tone for the rest of the game with hustle plays and electrifying dunks. Arizona Western maintained its momentum throughout the half, heading into the break with a 47-39 lead.

The offensive explosion continued in the second half, as the Matadors attacked with efficiency and balance. A pivotal three-pointer by Mario Brunetto off an assist from Matt Anglo stretched the lead to 12, fending off a potential College of Southern Nevada rally. Arizona Western shot a blistering 56.5 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from three-point range, while dominating the glass with a plus-23 rebounding margin. 

Marsai Mason led the scoring charge, pouring in 24 points, tying his personal collegiate high on 7-of-9 shooting and 9-of-10 from the line. Mason also added seven rebounds and two blocks. Off the bench, Mario Brunetto contributed 14 points and 4 rebounds, knocking down two triples and hitting all four of his free throws.

Paora Winitana finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal, providing a strong two-way effort over 36 minutes. Matt Anglo tallied 13 points, 4 rebounds and a team-high 3 assists, while Boubacar Diatta nearly posted a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. In all, five Matadors reached double figures, underscoring the team's depth and offensive firepower.
