Matadors win fourth in a row with dominate performance versus Community Christian

YUMA, Ariz. - Arizona Western College men's basketball (7-2) dominated from the opening tip, unleashing an unrelenting offensive performance to defeat Community Christian College 98-66 on Tuesday night. The Matadors jumped to an early double-digit lead and showcased their tremendous depth en route to their seventh win of the season.

The Matadors set the tone with waves of pressure and transition buckets. By the break, the result was never in doubt, as the Matadors' bench continued to pour in production and the team coasted to another convincing victory.

Arizona Western's offensive fireworks were powered by remarkable shooting and selfless team play. The Matadors connected on 8 of 9 attempts from beyond the arc, finishing a scorching 88.9 percent from three-point range. Their depth was overwhelming—13 players saw the floor, 12 found the scoring column and the bench accounted for 68 points. The team also dominated the glass with a 39-31 rebounding advantage and capitalized on 19 points off 15 Community Christian turnovers.

Illiam Fevry led a balanced attack with a perfect shooting night, tallying 15 points in just 10 minutes by going 6-for-6 from the field and 2-for-2 from three-point range. He added 2 rebounds while sparking the Matadors' biggest runs. Boubacar Diatta delivered 13 points, hitting all three of his three-point attempts and pulling down 4 rebounds in only 9 minutes.

Engel Gutierrez contributed across the board with 12 points and 6 rebounds, providing a spark early as Arizona Western seized control. Marsai Mason added 11 points, including a perfect 3-for-3 at the line, and recorded a block in 9 minutes of action. Paora Winitana anchored the starting unit with 10 points on a flawless 5-for-5 from the field, hauling down 7 rebounds and adding 2 assists.
