YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors' Men's Basketball player Yaxel Lendeborg earned the second All-American honor of his career on Tuesday morning, being named an NJCAA Second Team All-American after finishing first in the nation in rebounds.

Lendeborg finished the season averaging a career-best 17.2 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per contest. The forward from Pennsauken, N.J. shot 72.7 percent from the field and scored 20 or more points in 16 games this season, including a career-high 30 points in the West District Championship Game at Salt Lake.

Lendeborg etched his name in program history on January 28, hauling in an Arizona Western Men's Basketball record 31 rebounds against Scottsdale, finishing the game with a double-double with 28 points.

The sophomore led the entire NJCAA DI in rebounds with 429 and grabbed 20 or more rebounds three times and double-figure boards in 23 of the 33 games played, finishing the season with eight consecutive double-doubles in points and rebounds.

Lendeborg was named the ACCAC Defensive Player of the Year as well as named All-ACCAC First Team and All-Region DI.
