Lendeborg and Hargrove collect All-ACCAC honors

YUMA, Ariz. – Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball sophomore Yaxel Lendeborg was named First Team All-ACCAC and sophomore Marquis Hargrove was selected Second-Team All-ACCAC.

Lendeborg led the Matadors in scoring, averaging 16.1 points per game, and leading the nation in rebounding, averaging 12.9 rebounds per contest.

The forward from Pennsauken, N.J., set a career-high with 28 points against Cochise on January 25 and tied that mark while breaking the program record for rebounds in a game with 31 in the next game against Scottsdale on January 28.

Lendeborg finished the regular season third in the ACCAC in blocks with 46 and 12th in steals with 47 while grabbing a league-leading 229 defensive rebounds earning him the ACCAC Defensive Player of the Year award.

Hargrove is currently the Matadors' second-leading scorer, averaging a career-high 14.2 points per game and leading the Matadors in steals with 60, second most in the ACCAC.

The guard from Sacramento, Calif., scored 426 points, the 15th most in the conference, and scored in double-figures in all but five games this season. Hargrove scored a career-high 27 points in back-to-back games, doing so against Central Arizona on February 8 and Chandler-Gilbert on February 11, earning NJCAA DI Men's Basketball National Player of the Week honors.
