Men's Basketball wins third game at Coyote Classic, beating Western Wyoming 82-73

YUMA, Ariz. - The Arizona Western Matadors Men's Basketball team (7-0) wrapped up the Coyote Classic with an 82-73 win over Western Wyoming (5-3) on Saturday afternoon in North Las Vegas, Nev. 

Marquis Hargrove led the Matadors with 18 points, shooting 8-for-14 from the field, finishing as one of five Matadors in double-figures. Yaxel Lendeborg added 15 points off the bench, putting together a double-double by grabbing 13 rebounds. 

The Matadors and Mustangs went back and forth early in the first half before the Matadors took a 32-28 lead into the locker room. Arizona Western used a big second-half effort from AJ Marmolejos who scored 15 of his 17 points in the final 20 minutes, helping the Matadors pull away from Western Wyoming, outscoring the Mustangs 50-45. 

Freshman guard Isaiah Amato ended the contest with 16 points while Evan Butts chipped in with 11 points. Marko Milivojevic led the Matadors with three blocks.

The Matadors return home on Tuesday, November 22, when they host Glendale in the first ACCAC matchup of the season at 5:30 pm at the House Gymnasium. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors (Over 65) while Arizona Western College students and employees gain free admission with their AWC ID.
