The Matadors let an early lead slip away in the opener as Glendale used a big top of the seventh inning to come from behind and take game one 6-4.

Glendale would get on the board with a run in the sixth and then score five times in the top of the seventh to take a 6-2 lead.

The Lady Matadors attempted to rally in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring a pair of runs thanks to a Desiree Moran RBI double and a Vivian Guevara RBI single but that was the closest the Lady Matadors would get.

Oros and Jocelyn Hernandez each had a pair of hits in the loss as Oros went 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs and Hernandez finished the game 2-for-3. Elisa Garcia struck out six batters in seven innings of work.

The Lady Matadors’ offense got going in the game two scoring 11 runs in an 11-3 win over the Gauchos.

After Glendale opened the scoring with a run in the first, the Lady Matador scored three in the bottom half highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Kimberly Valenzuela.

Arizona Western added five in the third after Glendale tied it with two in the top half of the inning as Valenzuela drove in two more runs and Joceylnn Hernandez also knocked in a pair in the frame.

Moran finished the game off in the bottom of the seventh inning with a three-run double to give the Lady Mats an 11-3 win.
