    Lady Matador Volleyball Camp

    Need a great summer activity? Join AWC Volleyball for the Lady Matador Summer Volleyball Camp! Click HERE for the registration form.

    Open to boys and girls ages 9-15.

    Campers will receive quality instruction from AWC coaches and players. They will be divided into groups based on age and/or skill level. Campers will learn FUNdamental volleyball skills such as:

    King of the Hill

    YUMA, Ariz. – At some point, you run out of superlatives to describe Patrick Macon. The Arizona Western linebacker won almost every award imaginable, led the Matador football team to the national championship game, graduated and transferred to Oklahoma State. Today he was named the 2017 David Rowlands Male Student-Athlete of the Year, given to the top male student-athlete in the NJCAA.

    IFL Champ!

    YUMA, Ariz. – Great players shine through in big games. Former Arizona Western running back Darrell Monroe did it while at AWC, and now he can add in the Indoor Football League Championship to his resume. Monroe scored twice as the Arizona Rattlers claimed the IFL Championship over the weekend.

    YUMA, Ariz. – Football season keeps creeping ever closer, and expectations keep building for the Arizona Western football team as fall draws near with each preseason poll. The Mats claimed the top spot in the first Dirty 30 rankings at JCGridiron.com.

    Classroom Dominance

    YUMA, Ariz. – One of the best years in Arizona Western athletics keeps getting better! A record 25 student-athletes earned All-Academic Student-Athlete Awards from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for posting at least a 3.6 GPA on a 4.00 scale through two semesters.

    Chyrome Thorpe (football) and Marlon Atondo (men’s soccer) both were 2016-17 NJCAA First Team All-Academic honorees by posting a 4.0 GPA during the academic year.

    YUMA, Ariz. – During Tom Minnick’s time in charge of the Arizona Western football program, the Matadors are always a part of the national conversation. As the summer inches closer to the 2017 season, the Mats claimed the fourth spot in the Street & Smith’s junior college Top 25.

The Arizona Western volleyball program is less than two months away from the annual Arizona Community College Athletic Conference Jamboree that marks the opening of the season. The team’s schedule has been released, and the Lady Mats will be back in the hunt for a conference title and trip to the national tournament!
