    Strong Finish

    YUMA, Ariz. – Success on the field and in the classroom is the goal, and Arizona Western College student-athletes achieved both this year after grades were released. Fourteen players were nominated for NJCAA All-Academic Student-Athlete Awards by having at least a 3.6 GPA, and four teams were nominated for NJCAA All-Academic Team honors with a team GPA of 3.0 or better.

    YUMA, Ariz. – After playing nine regular season games last season, the Arizona Western College football team is back to 11 games with a tough 2018 schedule lined up. The schedule features six games in Yuma and four on the road.

    YUMA, Ariz. – Off the best season in team history, the Arizona Western College women’s soccer team has set its schedule for 2018. The Lady Mats are coming off a trip to the Region I Finals while tying a team-best 15 wins.

    YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western College men’s soccer team has racked up 10 straight playoff appearances, and now the team is aiming for number 11 with the release of the 2018 schedule. The Mats play 20 regular-season matches, all in the rough-and-tumble Arizona Community College Athletic Conference.

    YUMA, Ariz. – After missing the Region I Playoffs by a single game last year, the Arizona Western College volleyball team has its schedule set for the fall. The team has 13 conference matches to go with three non-conference tournaments.

    High Honor

    YUMA, Ariz. – Cinthya Samaniego etched her name into Arizona Western College women’s soccer history with an incredible two-year career for the Lady Mats, and now she has added one more award. The All-American was named a finalist for the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators Scholar-Athlete Award this spring.

    Heading East

    YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western College volleyball team has some major shoes to fill next season after two sophomores signed with four-year schools this spring. All-around talents Mafe Sandoval and Yolaine Mosquera Lopez take a combined 359 kills and 284 digs to their next stops. Sandoval signed with NAIA power Columbia College, and Mosquera Lopez signed with NCAA Division II Ohio Valley University.

    Ready to Rock

    YUMA, Ariz. – The Arizona Western College women’s soccer program announced Nicole Acosta as the team’s new head coach on Friday, and now she is ready to start rolling here in Yuma. The Goodyear, Arizona native is the team’s fourth head coach in team history.
