Green inducted into ACCAC Hall of Fame

YUMA, AZ - Former Arizona Western College Head Men's Basketball Coach Kelly Green was inducted into the ACCAC Hall of Fame at halftime of the Matadors' 87-66 win over Eastern Arizona on Saturday, November 20.

Green spent 14 seasons as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Arizona Western, winning 342 career games, posting a 342-107 record to become to program’s all-time wins leader. During his time in Yuma, Green led the Matadors to one of the best runs in program history, winning five Region I championships and qualifying for the NJCAA DI Men’s Basketball National Tournament three times.  

During the 2004-05 season, Green guided the Matadors to 28 consecutive wins, the longest winning streak in Arizona Western history. That season, the Matadors spent four straight weeks at #1 in the NJCAA D1 Men’s basketball polls. In total, Green averaged 24 wins per season at the helm of the Arizona Western Men’s Basketball program and was named ACCAC Coach of the Year six times. 

Following his time in Yuma, Green went on to the NCAA Division two-level as the head coach at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
